Internship
Our program now has a general rotating (traditional) internship. It is a combined internship, in that it is anticipated that the intern will progress to resident status and is expected to advance to the Family Medicine Residency Program. Program benefits include initial stipend of $36,921, a moving allowance, CME allowance, health insurance, malpractice coverage, personalized lab coats, pagers, and paid license and professional dues. Additionally, each intern is provided with "state of the art" laptop computer!. Daily didactic programs including "Morning Report", telemedicine conferences, book club and journal club. Our hospital has been listed in the "Top 100 Hospitals" for 6 years in a row!
The internship and residency programs have been recognized as outstanding rural "Model Programs".
We have a 100% first time pass rate on Natioanl Boards Part III and a 100% first time pass rate on Family Practice Board Certification Exam.
You will find that your contributions to the health care of our patients is appreciated, your view points appreciated, and in general, you are given the respect shown to physicians. Rest assured, you will be well prepared to advance to residency training and enter practice.
