Durant is located in southern Oklahoma. Is the county seat for Bryan County. 90 miles north of Dallas, TX., 150 miles southeast of Oklahoma City, and 180 miles southwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lake Texoma is only 13 miles away.

Durant is the home of Southeastern Oklahoma State University as well as the capital of the Choctaw Nation.
